PDF Imposition, Disposition, N-Shuffle?

PDF Imposition seems to be the official word. Disposition is what one software calls it. While N in the N-Shuffle stands for unlimited number of shuffling or imposing or disposing, whatever. Mostly because more freewares are limited to 4-up only, not N-up.

Whether or not this shuffling is practical or a need for you or not is out of the question here. Shuffling pages of chronological pdf files so that you will have 8 or more pages in one set for printing and even back to back has still its usability. The question here is how to do it. And that I will teach by using a freeware called PdfBookShuffler

Here is a tutorial of how to use PdfBookShuffler 2.2.3

To lessen number shuffling error, say if you'll shuffle 180 pages of pdf, I have an Excel File to help you shuffle your own created order automatically. Download and open in Excel. Copy above sets, if you have similar shuffling need like mine, and paste on the next numerical set, say 16 shuffling per set, then you need to paste the formula on row 17. For other shuffling need, you can email me for details at jnewton353@gmail.com, and I will teach you how. The formula seems easy though.

A good paid version but that I haven't reviewed is Montax imposer

But here are pictures to understand imposition easily:

Write the shuffled numbers on a paper just like in the picture.
At the back of number 1 starts number 2.
Fold the paper in half with number 1 on top.
Fold it in half further with number 1 still on top.
Lastly fold it further in half to show number one only on top.
If you would look inside, the numbers are chronologically ordered. And publishers would just cut the sides and bind it to a booklet finish. (Some pictures below how it was cut.)
